I am Bakhtiyor Turdiyev, and I teach physics at Synergy School. I taught physics in many specialized schools across
Uzbekistan. And I can confidently say that Muhammad is the most rigorous, imaginative, and enthusiastic student I
taught in my career. He consistently brings curiosity to everything he does, and supports the community in a selfless
m a n n e r .
One of the things I appreciate most about Muhammad is his readiness to explore beyond the curriculum; Muhammad
actively connects ideas and applies them to real-world challenges. One particular concept where his thinking most stood
out was in how he studied electromagnetism. Normally, students accept principles as facts, but Muhammad wanted to
understand the reason by asking how these concepts might apply to the way animals, like migratory birds, navigate
using the Earth's magnetic field. He studied proofs, worked out equations from basic principles, and found the patterns
in nature that explain this rule. Often, he would draw diagrams, explaining his thinking with clear excitement. Perhaps
one of Muhammad's best characteristics is his independence of thought and his willingness to express them. In
situations where students would never speak, he shows no hesitation to voice questions and thoughts. He is always an
active participant in class discussions.
Moreover, as an SAT and IELTS prep tutor, he has spent a substantial amount of time helping people from and beyond
the school. Also, his empathy, patience, and unique method of integrating relatable analogies to explain complex
grammatical structures or mathematical problems have made learning enjoyable for many students and helped them
achieve their best results. In addition, for Muhammad mentorship is not just about academics. It is also his moral
responsibility that led him to create the Gym Club at our school, which in addition to providing opportunities for peers
to improve their physical fitness, became a space for them to learn discipline and adopt healthy habits.
Further, Muhammad is a thoughtful young man who takes the time t o evaluate his actions, as well as the actions of
those around him. Last year, after observing his peers littering around school, he conducted a lesson on the importance
of environmental responsibility, and pointed out that having cleaners is a luxury that may not be available in the 'real
world'. This type of social awareness is unusual in my opinion, as most teens seem to be too busy competing for high
grades to take the time for self-evaluation.
Muhammad's contributions aren't limited to academics. In addition to being a top student, he has spent over four years
playing tennis at a high level and mentoring junior players with patience and genuine enthusiasm. His role as a volunteer
translator at international tennis tournaments has strengthened his communication skills and built connections across
the globe. Muhammad is quick to help, whether it's coaching youth or breaking down language barriers
Another quality that sets him apart from other student leaders is his strength of conviction. He will argue on any topic
that touches a nerve. He breathes with raw, unbridled passion. He is entertaining, and relies on wit to persuade. Teachers
enjoy him in their lessons. He is honest, never stooping to cheat. Friends rely on him; he is attentive to their true needs.
When I think about Muhammad's potential, I see a student who pairs unusual creative thinking with deep dedication
to connect with the world around him. His energy makes my classroom a place where everyone learns together. He
has a rare mix of intellect, thoughtfulness, and initiative, and I'm confident he'll bring this same energy to make a
positive impact both during and outside of lessons in your university.
