75 year old white, non-H male died by accident from acute mixed drug intoxication which included cocaine and ethanol. The coroner conducted a walkthrough with EMS after being advised of the suspicious circumstances involving V. The door to the residence was unlocked. V was found in the bedroom. V was in a supine position on the bed with his legs hanging off the side and feet touching the floor. V was found unresponsive only minutes before midday and he was last known alive on the day before, during the early evening. There were two glass smoking pipes on the nightstand near V as well as a spoon with suspected burnt residue. There was another glass smoking pipe inside of a bucket; the bucket also contained trash items. V’s sister stated that V had been living with two friends that he was “helping because they were homeless”. The two friends lived out of their fan that was normally parked in the front yard of V’s residence. The two friends drove to where V’s nephew lived to inform him that they could not get V to answer the front door. V's family members saw that the front door was unlocked and the two subjects stated that they could not enter the residence. V's sister explained that V had a history of using "crack" cocaine but had been clean for several years before having started to use again in the past month. The toxicology yielded positive results for Ethanol, Amlodipine, Metoprolol, Benzoylecgonine, and Cocaine.
